Level A1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)
This beginners Italian course follows on from Italian Course 101. It covers topics including likes and dislikes, describing places and making a hotel reservation. Grammatical development is emphasised through various speaking, listening and writing exercises.
By the end of this course, you should be able to:
- order food and drink at a café or restaurant
- make a restaurant reservation by telephone
- indicate food preferences
- describe a house
- describe hotel services
- review a hotel
- ask for assistance at a hotel.

- Verbs in -ere and in -ire
- Anche/ invece
- Making a hotel reservation
- Likes and dislikes
- Present tense: modal verbs dovere, potere and volere
- Adverbs: bene, male; molto, buono
- Introduction to adjectives, noun-adjective agreement, prepositions of place
Suitable for A1 level students, those who have completed Italian 101, or 20 hours of recent tuition.
Delivered as a series of interactive workshops where active participation is encouraged.
