Italian Course 101 (Level 1): Beginners
Course information
Level A1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)
This beginners Italian course is ideal for anyone preparing for travel. You will learn basic greetings, how to express likes and dislikes, and how to travel by bus and train. Grammatical elements are also introduced, and you will start to work on your speaking and listening skills. Noun, article and prepositions use are introduced as well as basic pronunciation, writing and reading skills.
No prior knowledge of the language is required.
By the end of this course, you should be able to:
- introduce yourself and greet others at an initial meeting
- denote possession
- register at the reception of a hotel
- make a short personal presentation
- denote employment and place of work
- enrol in a language course.

- Nouns and adjectives - (singular and plural)
- Regular verbs ending in -are and essere (to be), avere (to have), fare (to do or to make)
- Articles β definite and indefinite
- Introduction to prepositions

No prior knowledge of the language is required.
Delivered as a series of interactive workshops, where active participation is encouraged.
