Course information

Level A1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)

Ideal for preparing for travel or work commitments, you will learn the basics of language and build upon French 101. This course focuses on topics such as the city, travel, accommodation, transport, family and leisure. Grammatical and phonological elements are introduced as you work on your French speaking, oral comprehension, reading and writing skills.

By the end of this course, you should be able to:

  • talk about your city and country
  • name and locate places in a town
  • select a mode of transport
  • find your way around (understand directions)
  • obtain information about local accommodation and make a booking
  • talk about family
  • describe a person
  • talk about your likes and dislikes
  • talk about yourself, your hobbies and dreams

Suitable for A1 level students, those who have completed French 101, or who have completed 20 hours of recent tuition.
